Trump Says Tom Homan Should Arrest Gov. Gavin Newsom Amid ICE Riots

President Donald Trump said that White House Border Czar Tom Homan should arrest California Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Trump spoke briefly with reporters on Monday outside the White House and was asked about anti-ICE demonstrators on the streets of Los Angeles, many of whom have been insulting and harassing Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) personnel.

Fox News White House Correspondent Peter Doocy asked Trump, “Gavin Newsom is — he’s daring Tom Homan to come and arrest him. Should he do it?”

“I would do it if I were Tom. I think it’s great. Gavin likes the publicity. I like Gavin Newsom. He is a nice guy, but he’s grossly incompetent. Everybody knows [that]. All you have to do is look at the little railroad he is building. It’s about 100 times over budget,” Trump responded.

“The people that are causing the problem are professional agitators. They’re insurrectionists. They’re bad people. They should be in jail,” Trump added.
